Pedro Leon will not be at Real Madrid next season after he was told that he would not be required at the Bernabeu, according to reports in the Spanish press.
Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho has made it clear that the former Getafe winger was not part of his plans for the forthcoming campaign, as the former Chelsea boss looks to trim down his squad.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been out of favour with Mourinho, featuring in only 14 games in all competitions throughout the season.
As reported in AS, despite limited gametime the ex-Spanish under-21 representative has stated in a meeting with club officials that he does not want to leave the La Liga runners up, and is willing to stay and fight for his place.
The matter may be taken out of his hands however, as the player is likely to be placed on the transfer list.
Club president Florentino Perez has fashioned deals to bring in widemen Jose Callejon and Hamit Altintop this summer, which would restrict the former Valladolid man's chances of first team football in 2011/12 further making a move away from the capital almost inevitable for the winger.
