Evian gains promotion to French topflight

PARIS (AP)—Evian gained promotion to the French topflight next season with a 2-1 win at Reims on Friday.
With just one round of matches remaining, Evian tops the second division standings with 64 points and is guaranteed to finish among the top 3 clubs.
Second-placed Dijon trails Evian by two points after it was held to a 1-1 draw by Boulogne.
Ajaccio beat Istres 2-0 and climbed to third overall with 61 points.
Cedric Faure opened the scoring for Reims in the 34th minute before Kevin Berigaud leveled from the spot in the 48th. Cedric Cambon scored the winner in the 87th minute.
