Kobe striker Lee fired for drunk driving

KOBE, Japan (AP)—Japanese club Vissel Kobe has terminated the contract of South Korean striker Lee Jae-min two days after he was arrested for drunk driving.

Vissel announced the termination of Lee’s contract on its official website on Wednesday.

Getty Images - May 14, 10:47 am EDT World Soccer Gallery Lee was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after he crashed his vehicle into a Kobe convenience store at 1:30 a.m. on Monday. He admitted to consuming alcohol at home before the accident, Kyodo news agency reported.

Lee joined Kobe during the middle of last season and has played in three matches this season.
