Kenny Dalglish claims Liverpool are no longer a two-man team.

In the past the Kop only had a handful of heroes, with Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres always expected to produce the goods.

Gerrard has been injured since helping beat Manchester United two months ago and Torres was flogged to Chelsea for £50m in January.

But that has not stopped Liverpool climbing the Premier League under Dalglish. And they visit Fulham tonight knowing that victory puts them in pole position for a Europa League spot after a season that looked dead and buried at Christmas.

That is all down to the likes of Raul Meireles, Maxi Rodriguez, Luis Suarez, Jay Spearing, Dirk Kuyt and Andy Carroll stepping up to the plate.

Rodriguez has four goals in the last two games and Suarez and Kuyt have been in stunning form. And Dalglish said: “The more options you have the better.

“Successful teams are the ones with the greatest number of options going forward.” Fulham boss Mark Hughes has backed Dalglish to get the Liverpool job permanently.

‘Sparky’ said: “He couldn’t do anything more to be honest. “I think everyone would be surprised if he didn’t get it now.”

Hughes is set for another contract himself after guiding Fulham towards the top half of the table. “I’ve still got another year left and I’m very happy here,” he said.

“If we get maximum points out of every game we have left then I think that’s the highest total ever for Fulham in the Premier League.”
