Posted Saturday, May 07, 2011 by PA
Striker Scott Sally's late goal gave Airdrie a hard-earned 2-2 draw against East Fife at New Bloomfield.
Midfielder David Muir put the visitors ahead in the 33rd minute with a cool finish from inside the box after latching onto Ryan Wallace's cross.
But the Diamonds were level just eight minutes later thanks to midfielder Ryan McCord's strike from inside the box.
Goalkeeper Michael Brown came to his side's rescue just before the break, scrambling across his goal to punch away Jamie Stevenson's dangerous left-wing corner.
The Fifers stepped up the pressure in the second half and made it count in the 64th minute when Steven Hislop stabbed home Muir's cross from six yards.
But Sally turned home Stevenson's low cross in the 83rd minute to earn his side a share of the spoils.
