AS Roma vs AC Milan preview - Allegri: Pressure is on Roma

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri claims his team will be more relaxed than Roma when they meet at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Rossoneri are trying to capture their first scudetto since 2004 - something that will happen if they claim a point in the Italian capital since only two more rounds remain after this weekend.

Even if Milan lose, they still may win the title if Inter - who are eight points behind - fail to get a win in their home game against Fiorentina on Sunday.

Milan hold a better head-to-head record with Inter this season.

Roma, meanwhile, are battling to make it into the top four in order to reach next season's Champions League.

"The pressure will be on Roma as they have to win," said Allegri.

"This game is crucial for Roma to finish in the top four, especially after Lazio's defeat last weekend.

"We will face a very motivated team. But we need to go out on the pitch to win and take three points as we have always tried to do."

The Rossoneri are riding a five-match winning streak and will be bolstered by the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from suspension and Alexandre Pato from injury.

Roma are sixth and level on 59 points with Udinese, with both sides trailing one point behind Lazio, who are fourth and hold the last Champions League qualifying spot.

With Udinese taking on Lazio this weekend, Roma can leapfrog their city rivals in the standings provided they beat Milan.

"I expect a determined Milan," said Roma coach Vincenzo Montella. "They will have serenity on their side while we need to give our all to get three points.

The Giallorossi go into the contest feeling much better about their chances of qualifying for Europe's elite club competition after wins over Chievo and Bari.

Montella's side twice went behind, failed to convert a penalty and had midfielders Daniele De Rossi and Simone Perrotta sent off last weekend but still managed to edge Bari 3-2.

"We are capable of overcoming difficult situations with our sheer determination," said Montella.

Both Perrotta and De Rossi have been banned for their transgressions at Bari and will not face Milan.
