Racing de Santander 2 : 0 Mallorca - Santander bank on safety

Racing Santander took a giant step towards Primera Division survival with a 2-0 victory over Real Mallorca.
Markus Rosenberg put the hosts in front and, after Ivan Ramis had a penalty saved by Antonio Tono, Kennedy Bakircioglu doubled the advantage.
Four straight defeats have sucked Racing back into relegation danger, but this win gave them a cushion over the drop zone.
Racing drew first blood in the 13th minute as Giovani dos Santos' through-ball played in Rosenberg and the Sweden striker scored with a low shot.
Alvaro Gonzalez headed over from Bakircioglu's corner as Racing threatened again, but they had a let-off moments later.
Henrique's foul on Jonathan De Guzman handed the visitors a penalty, but Ramis' effort low to the left was weak and Tono held it.
Instead Racing went two up three minutes before the break, Bakircioglu firing a free-kick from the edge of the area out on the left into the top corner.
Pedro Munitis brought a fine save out of Dudu Aouate as Racing threatened to put the game to bed.
But Mallorca came back and Tono saved a Ramis header before pulling off two superb stops in quick succession to keep his side on control.
First he parried Michael Pereira's 20-yard effort and a minute later turned away Victor's shot from well inside the area.
Mallorca were piling on the pressure in a bid to get back into the game, but could not find a way past Tono.
Ramis' frustration grew as he met Jose Luis Marti's cross only for Tono to keep out his header, and the keeper denied him again in the 90th minute as the hosts claimed a vital victory.
