AC Milan vs Bologna preview - Seedorf sets sights on Scudetto

AC Milan can secure their first Serie A crown since 2004 at the San Siro on Sunday if they beat Bologna and Inter Milan fail to come out triumphant at Cesena.

The Rossoneri took a step closer to claiming the scudetto last weekend after they won 1-0 at Brescia.

Even a draw against Bologna and a defeat for Inter on Saturday would put AC Milan nine points clear with three games to go, with an unassailable lead owing to their better head-to-head record against Leonardo's troops this season.

And with the finish line in sight, AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf knows what is at stake this weekend.

He said : "Bologna is our first final and we are playing at the San Siro against a good side.

"I think if we win this game we will have done enough, although we will have to hope that Inter leave some points in Cesena."

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri will be again without his team's top scorers for this weekend's match.

Brazil forward Alexandre Pato is out injured while Swedish strike partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic is suspended.

However, the absence of the pair has not hindered the leaders, who are chasing their fifth straight win this weekend.

In stark contrast, Bologna have lost their last four league games, including last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Cesena, to drop to 12th in the standings.

Bologna coach Alberto Malesani will be keen for his team not to slip up again, with only five points separating the Rossoblu from the relegation zone as the season reaches its denouement.

"We must end this negative run," said Malesani. "We face the best team in Serie A but we must give our all to take a positive result at the San Siro.

"Although we have 40 points in the bank and we are in a better position than many other teams, we cannot afford any further setbacks."
