Queen of South vs Cowdenbeath preview - McKenna banned for Doonhamers

I have a say

Queen of the South's Stephen McKenna sits out against Cowdenbeath through suspension.

The midfielder missed Tuesday night's game with Ross County but it was abandoned so did not count.

Midfield pair Rocco Quinn and Paul Burns could return after hamstring injuries but David Weatherston and Daniel Orsi will miss out again.

Doonhamer boss Kenny Brannigan said: "Between one thing and another April has been a really disappointing month for us so far and it is time for that to end. Our defence needs to tighten up and our strikers need to start scoring again."

"It would be great to defeat Cowdenbeath and lift everyone's spirits about the place again."

Cowdenbeath manager Jimmy Nicholl has Colin Cameron and Archie Campbell fully fit and available.

But Bob Malcolm, John Robertson and Joe Mbu all remain out of the Blue Brazil defence through injury.

Goalkeeper David Hay remains a doubt so Ludovic Roy will continue between the sticks if he fails a fitness test.

Mark Baxter is another doubt for the Central park men.

The message from Nicholl to his ninth-placed team is simple

He said: "Win our last three games and we will avoid the play-offs. It is a big ask but I believe that we can do it and if we can win down at Queen of the South it will start things off very nicely.
