MICK MCCARTHY thinks Avram Grant may have got his sums wrong in the great relegation numbers game.
West Ham boss Grant has told his men they need three wins from their last five games to give themselves a chance of staying up.
Wolves are below West Ham but have a game in hand and both clubs are on 32 points.
And Mick McCarthy reckons three wins will guarantee HIS side’s safety.
With Fulham, Stoke and Birmingham to face in The next eight days, it’s a crunch week for the men from Molineux.
McCarthy said: “Avram is talking about a 60 per cent success rate, which would be remarkable.”
The Wolves boss is not sure the widely-held view it could take over 40 points to survive is right.
McCarthy added: “I’m looking at the other teams and they have got five games left. If they get a point a game, then 38 may be enough to stay up.
“If we get three wins, we will stay up. It’s a huge week for us and I think what we get from those games will be a determining factor.”
McCarthy believes his side have what it takes to win the survival battle.
He added: “The games we have got are tough, but winnable.”
