SPL leader Rangers beats 8-man Dundee United 4-0

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP)—Steven Whittaker scored two penalties and missed another spot kick on Tuesday as Scottish leader Rangers beat eight-man Dundee United 4-0 on Tuesday.
Mihael Kovacevic was the first United player to be dismissed, fouling Steven Naismith that led to Whittaker scoring from the spot in the 22nd minute.
Whittaker netted again from the spot on the hour after Sean Dillon was red-carded for tripping Nikica Jelavic, who scored himself in the 72nd.
Morgaro Gomis was sent off in the 78th for a challenge on El Hadji Diouf inside the box, but Whittaker sent the spot kick over the crossbar.
Kyle Lafferty scored net a fourth goal in the 83rd.
Rangers has a four-point lead over Celtic, but its Glasgow rival has two games in hand.
