Peterhead 1 : 1 Brechin City - Promotion hopefuls held

Relegation-bound Peterhead earned a 1-1 draw at home to promotion-chasing Brechin.
It was the home side that had the early chances, but Martin Bavidge and Nicky Clark both failed to hit the target with their efforts.
However, in the 39th minute a left-footed free-kick by Neil Janczyk was parried clear by Paul Jarvie but Mitchel Megginson was on hand to follow up and give Brechin the lead.
The advantage was short-lived, though, as Clark pounced on a chance in the six-yard box just three minutes later and restored parity with a calm finish.
Ryan Strachan nearly gave Peterhead the lead in spectacular fashion midway through the second half but Craig Nelson turned his 35-yard drive over the crossbar with his fingertips.
Strachan's next chance came shortly after from the penalty spot following Janczyk`s handball, but another brilliant stop from Nelson denied the striker as Brechin held on for a point.
