ANDY CARROLL’S blossoming partnership with Luis Suarez has not stopped Liverpool considering a summer move for £15m-rated Ipswich teenager Connor Wickham.

The 18-year-old striker scored his eighth goal of the season as Ipswich battled from 3-1 down to draw with

Middlesbrough on Tuesday and has been watched on several occasions by Anfield director of football Damien Comolli.

Ipswich have reacted to the interest in Wickham by persuading him to sign two new contracts this year alone.

In January, he agreed a two-year extension to run to 2013, and earlier this month that was replaced with a fresh deal that expires in 2014.

It is understood the contract includes an escape clause of £15m for the striker, who has ­progressed into England’s U-21 squad.
