Cowdenbeath vs Ross County preview - Triple injury blow for Cowdenbeath
Posted Tuesday, April 05, 2011 by PA
Cowdenbeath will be without three players for the crunch clash with Ross County.
Defenders Joe Mbu and John Anderson, and midfielder Colin Cameron will miss out through injury, but striker Greg Stewart should return after work commitments kept him out at the weekend.
Blue Brazil boss Jimmy Nicholl has a simple message for his side, as he explained: "It is pretty obvious what we need to do, and that is to win. We have been playing a lot better recently and I am sure the boys will go out and give it their all but we have to win.
"This would be a tremendous game for Cowdenbeath to pick up three points in as it sets us up really nicely for the run-in as matters will have been put back into our own hands."
Ross County strikers Michael Gardyne and Steven Milne are injury doubts for the match.
The pair may not be risked, with the ALBA Challenge Cup Final against Queen of the South coming up at the weekend.
Defender Darren McCormack will definitely miss out through injury.
Dingwall boss Jimmy Calderwood is demanding that his players treat both games like finals.
"I want us to be going into the ALBA Final having won this game against Cowdenbeath. I am classing this as a final as well as we need to win the points to get away from relegation trouble," he said.
"We have good players that are now earning the right to win games as opposed to waiting for things to happen. We were solid at the back against Stirling Albion and will need to be the same against Cowdenbeath."
