Parma 1 : 2 Bari - Bari boost survival hopes

Bari substitute Edgar Alvarez scored an injury-time winner at Parma to keep the Galletti's faint hopes of remaining in Serie A alive.

Rooted at the bottom of the table, Bari took a 64th-minute lead when Alessandro Parisi's free-kick beat home goalkeeper Antonio Mirante.

However, Parma striker Amauri looked as if he had earned a point with an 80th-minute header.

The struggling Galletti claimed a precious victory, however, at the Ennio Tardini stadium thanks to Alvarez's goal.

Bari did not gain ground on Lecce, however, who hold the last position of safety. Lecce ended fourth-placed Udinese's 13-match unbeaten run with a 2-0 home triumph.

The outcome has left Parma 16th, two points clear of third-bottom Cesena with seven games remaining.

Parma could have taken a sixth-minute lead but Hernan Crespo's eight-yard shot was saved by Bari goalkeeper Jean Francois Gillet.

On the half-hour mark, Erik Huseklepp's powerful header from Alessandro Gazzi's cross was kept out by Mirante.

Gillet then made a great save to deny Crespo from close range.

Bari replied with Gazzi serving Gergely Rudolf inside the box and his effort was cleared by Mirante.

On the stroke of half-time, Crespo's header from Antonio Candreva's cross went over the bar.

Parma almost broke the deadlock in the 50th minute.

Candreva fed Amauri inside the area and his effort was denied by Gillet.

Just when Parma looked more dangerous, Bari struck as Parisi hit a curling free-kick that gave Mirante no chance.

Parma surged forward and equalised shortly after.

Valeri Bojinov sent the ball into the area and Amauri headed in.

Bari were resilient and continued to put pressure on the Parma defence.

And they were rewarded for their attacking display in time added on. Simone Bentivoglio fed Alvarez inside the are and his right-footed strike from six yards beat Mirante as Bari secured their first win since January 6.
