Wolves striker Kevin Doyle could miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in the Republic of Ireland's 2-1 win against Macedonia.
Doyle, 27, limped off early in the Euro 2012 qualifier in Dublin.
Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni said: "It's his medial ligament. I think he may be out for one or two months, so it's a very
serious injury.
Wolves are in the Premier League's relegation zone and have eight games to ensure their top-flight survival.
Their final league game is on 22 May at home to Blackburn.
Trapattoni added: "I hope by May or June he can come back and we can have him for the match in Macedonia."
Doyle, who has scored eight times for Wolves this season, is the's club leading goalscorer.
