Cowdenbeath head in their clash with Morton looking to secure back-to-back victories after Saturday's win over Partick.

Manager Jimmy Nicholl will again be forced to field a makeshift side, though, as defender Joe Mbu has been ruled out, while John Armstrong, Bob Malcolm, Scott Linton and Colin Cameron are doubtful.

The win at Firhill lifted the Blue Brazil to eighth place and Nicholl is looking for the same type of performance again.

He said: "We restricted Partick to very few chances and we will need to do the same against Morton.

"We are at home and it would be great to use that advantage to get another three points and pull us even closer to the teams above us."

Morton welcome back striker Sean Fitzharris from suspension.

David MacGregor and Kevin Kelbie are expected to miss out again through injury, but that is tempered by the return of Darren Young, who has been struggling with a calf problem.

Cappielow manager Allan Moore is looking for his men to build on a fine display in the goalless draw with league leaders Raith

He said: "We will take heart from a very solid performance against John McGlynn's side at the weekend.

"Cowdenbeath will be scrapping for everything and we need to match that as I want the win to help us finish as far up the table as we can."
