Cowdenbeath boss Jimmy Nicholl has a selection headache ahead of the visit of Ross County to Central Park.

Joe Mbu and Lee Makel have both been passed fit to leave Nicholl with 23 players to choose from.

Only the long-term injured Dene Droudge and Danny Mackay are unavailable with Nicholl saying: "This would be a tremendous game for Cowdenbeath to win as we would move above Ross County with a game in hand.

"To do anything we have to cut out the mistakes we have been making in defence as they hurt against Stirling last weekend and then Dundee in midweek."

Ross County have only defender Darren McCormack and striker Steven Craig unavailable to manager Jimmy Calderwood through injury.

The Dingwall side's spirits have been boosted by their win last weekend over Falkirk and a fine display in midweek against Dunfermline.

Calderwood said: "Getting that win was great and it had been coming. We had been getting closer every week and it was great to finally get over the finishing line.

"Getting a draw away from home against another promotion seeking side has also boosted everyone's confidence.

"That is now five games undefeated but we still have a bit of work to do starting at Cowdenbeath in getting out of the mess we found ourselves in."
