Airdrie United 1 : 1 East Fife - Hamilton off target as Fifers draw

Play-off chasing East Fife were left to rue James Hamilton's second-half penalty miss as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Airdrie at New Broomfield.
A frantic start saw the Fifers go close after three minutes, Steven Hislop shooting wide before United's Scott Gemmill had a fifth-minute effort saved by goalkeeper Michael Brown.
The Diamonds took the lead after 12 minutes when Phil Johnston slotted home from Gary Mackay-Steven's cross.
But their advantage lasted only 10 minutes as Jonathan Smart equalised for East Fife, heading in from Robert Linn's free-kick.
The goalmouth action then died down until the 76th minute when the Fifers were given a penalty following Paul Lovering's handball, but Hamilton put his spot-kick wide.
