Partick Thistle 3 : 1 Queen of South - Thistle sting Queens
Posted Tuesday, March 08, 2011 by PA
Late strikes from Chris Erskine and Shaun Fraser secured Partick a 3-1 success over Queen of the South at the Firhill Stadium.
The Jags went in front after 34 minutes when Kris Doolan slotted home from Paul Paton's cross.
Neither team managed to create any clear-cut chances until the 84th minute when Erskine fired in from 18 yards to double Thistle`s advantage.
However, the Doonhamers were back in the match just two minutes later as Willie McLaren crossed for Danny Carmichael to pull one back from close range.
Partick were not to be denied, though, and re-established their two-goal lead with three minutes remaining when Fraser met Erskine's centre to fire home right-footed from 12 yards.
