The Balmoor men will be missing the suspended David Donald, with work commitments keeping Graeme Sharp out of the country.
Defender Stuart Smith is struggling with an ankle injury and frontman David Ross is a doubt after falling ill during training on Thursday evening.
Cooper said: "We are all having a hard time at the moment but we have to battle on.
"We are only one win away from turning things around and hopefully that will come against Forfar although it will not be easy as they are a big strong side but we will give it our best shot."
Forfar assistant boss Ian Campbell has stepped in to lead the side for the trip to Peterhead as his brother and club manager Dick Campbell begins his battle against cancer.
The Loons' numbers have been increased by three as David Mowat returns after injury with fellow defender Michael Bolochoweckyj and striker Ross Campbell added after suspension.
Campbell reckons his promotion-chasing men will face a highly charged Blue Toon side and said: "Balmoor is always a tough place to go but they will come out battling for their lives and determined to move off the bottom of the table.
"We have to match their fight and despite the 3-0 scoreline in our defeat against Livingston in midweek, we played well and a repeat of that performance would be fine."
