Raith Rovers 1 : 2 Dundee - Higgins stars in Dundee win

Sean Higgins' netted a brace as Dundee secured a surprise 2-1 win over league-leaders Raith.

Raith could have broken the deadlock in the 11th minute, but Allan Walker couldn't direct his 20-yard shot on target.

Higgins, who was a constant threat throughout, almost opened the scoring a minute later but his 12-yard shot was comfortably saved by Andrew McNeil in the Raith goal.

Higgins did go one better and opened the scoring in the 34th minute, though, beating McNeil from 12 yards with a smart left-footed strike.

Raith equalised five minutes after half-time, Allan Walker firing home from 20 yards.

But the visitors went ahead four minutes later when Higgins claimed his second of the game, converting a Craig Forsyth cross to secure a vital three points for Dundee.
