Queen of South vs Stirling Albion Preview - Burns concern for Queens
Posted Tuesday, February 22, 2011 by PA
Queen of the South will be without injured midfielder Paul Burns for the game against Stirling.
However, Bob Harris makes his return from suspension and club captain David Lilley is also free of a ban, although he is an injury doubt.
Manager Kenny Brannigan is looking for his men to build on their fine 4-0 win over Morton at the weekend.
He said: "That was a great result and performance and we have given ourselves a platform to chase the teams ahead of us.
"The last time we played Stirling it was a goalless draw and they have improved since then so I am not taking anything for granted."
Stirling Albion are short of defensive cover for the trip after defender Greig McDonald suffered an Achilles injury at the weekend.
He joins the injured pair of goalkeeper Callum Reidford and defender Martyn Corrigan on the sidelines.
To add to manager Jocky Scott's selection worries, Jonathan Brown and Scott Robertson are both suspended.
However, the recently appointed boss was in upbeat mood, and said: "Our performances are improving all the time and a win for Stirling Albion is not far away.
"Queen of the South got a great result at the weekend and will be determined to build on that, but getting the first goal and taking confidence from that could be crucial for our players and hopefully we can do that at Palmerston."
