Real Madrid 4-1 Real Sociedad: Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo And Emmanuel Adebayor Net In Straightforward Los Blancos Win

Real Madrid closed the gap on league leaders Barcelona to seven points by securing a routine 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Kaka's second goal of the season and a Cristiano Ronaldo double in the first 45 minutes proved enough to win the points, and Alvaro Arbeloa's late own goal had no impact on the final result, with Emmanuel Adebayor grabbing his first league goal for the club in the last minute of play.
Madrid knew that after Barcelona’s convincing defeat of Atletico Madrdid on Saturday evening, they trailed their rivals by a massive ten points, but put themselves in a position for success from very early in the match.
Just seven minutes were on the clock when Kaka pounced on a ball that broke to him on the right of the area, and curled his shot superbly into the far corner beyond Claudio Bravo.
The Basque side faced an almost impossible task midway through the half when neat link-up play between Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo saw the latter drill a low shot expertly into the corner, and end his recent drought in front of goal.
Ronaldo then moved level with rival Lionel Messi in the race for the Picichi, on 24 goals each, when he leapt highest inside the area to thump home a Mesut Oezil corner straight into the net.
Sociedad did have their chances throughout the match, however, with Raul Tamudo particularly wasteful, they still forced Iker Casillas into two smart saves.
The former Spanish international was involved in the move that saw the men from San Sebastian clinch a consolation strike. Substitute Raul Albiol misjudged the flight of a cross into the area, and Tamudo controlled well on his chest before firing a volley at goal. Casillas’ save was instinctive, but the ball cannoned off the body of Arbeloa (o.g.) and into the net.
But the result was never in danger, and although Mesut Oezil had a goal chopped off for offside in the closing minutes, Adebayor's low shot found the corner of Bravo's net, and Los Blancos comfortably saw out the remainder of the match, closing the gap on leaders Barcato seven points in the process.
