Cesena 1 - 1 Catania: Jimenez denies Catania

Cesena and Catania both remain in a precarious position in Serie A after they shared a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi.
Maxi Lopez opened the scoring for the visitors in the eighth minute before Luis Jimenez levelled just after the half-hour.
Emanuele Giaccherini had a good chance to win the game for Cesena when he was one-on-one with the goalkeeper but he failed to convert his shot which Mariano Andujar saved with his legs.
Catania had only picked up four points away from home this season but Lopez gave them a great start when he slotted home a right-footed shot under keeper Francesco Antonioli with less than 10 minutes gone.
Giaccherini came close to equalising a little under 10 minutes later when his low left-footed shot from the edge of the area was just wide before he turned provider with a low cross from the left which Matias Silvestre cleared for the visitors.
Cesena then pulled level when Jimenez played a one-two inside the box with Erjon Bogdani and coolly stroked the ball past Andujar.
Giaccherini was heavily involved and he went on a run before passing to Fabio Caserta on the edge of the box but his hard left-footed shot went wide.
Although there was plenty of effort in the second half by both sides, there were few clear-cut opportunities.
Lopez shot wide for Catania before team-mate Rafael Martinho surged down the wing and put in a cross from the byline which was cleared for a corner.
Giaccherini then attacked for the hosts, playing in Igor Budan but Andujar was alert to the danger and managed to intercept the ball.
Giaccherini then squandered his great chance to win the game when he fluffed his shot when through on goal with 10 minutes left.
