Stenhousemuir 1 Airdrie 0: Murray mint for Stenny
Posted Saturday, January 22, 2011 by PA
Stephen Murray grabbed a late winner as Stenhousemuir claimed a 1-0 victory against Airdrie.
It was a tight affair as ninth hosted sixth, with the visitors having to withstand long spells of pressure which eventually proved too much for them.
United goalkeeper Mark Ridgers had a good afternoon, producing decent saves to deny Paul Quinn and Ross Clark.
Murray's winner came just when it looked like Airdrie had earned a point, with the ball falling to the midfielder and he lashed in from 12 yards.
United nearly snatched a share of the spoils when Stenhousemuir goalkeeper Chris McClusky kept out a fierce drive from Rhys Devlin.
The result sees the hosts make it four games unbeaten.
