Palermo will be hoping not to be hindered by refereeing mistakes that they believe have affected them in recent games when they host Brescia.

The Sicilian side were furious after last weekend's controversial 3-1 defeat at Cagliari.

Delio Rossi's men felt Alessandro Matri's opener that put Cagliari on their way should have been disallowed for a clear offside.

"We are fed up with this situation," Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini said.

"We have played three games this year and in all of them we have been punished by refereeing mistakes.

"At Bari, we had a dubious penalty called against us when we were winning and in the end we drew that game.

"Against Chievo, we were not given a clear penalty and against Cagliari, the referee made numerous calls that went against us."

Last weekend's reverse dropped Palermo to seventh in the standings with 31 points from 20 games.

Rossi's men have won their last five league games at La Favorita while rivals Brescia make the journey to Sicily having clinched just four points on their travels this season.

The visitors are nevertheless in buoyant mood as they bounced back from three consecutive defeats with last weekend's 2-0 triumph over Parma.

The victory lifted Mario Beretta's side four points clear of bottom side Bari and just one behind Cesena, who hold the last position of safety.

"It was an important win for us," said Beretta. "We took a big step towards Serie A survival."

Brescia will be without defender Francesco Bega and striker Alessandro Diamanti, both suspended.

Moreover, Brazilian forward Eder is doubtful with a knee injury.

The hosts will be bolstered by the return of striker Fabrizio Miccoli and defender Cesare Bovo.

Bovo returns from suspension and Miccoli has recovered from the flu that kept him out of last weekend's match in Cagliari.
