GLASGOW, Scotland (AP)—Hearts maintained their slim hopes of winning the Scottish Premier League title with a 1-0 win over Edinburgh rival Hibernian on Saturday.
With leader Celtic and defending champion Rangers not in action until Sunday, third-place Hearts moved to within three points of the top after Kevin Kyle scored for a fourth straight match.
The Scotland international headed in Arvydas Novikovas’ cross with four minutes left.
Hearts manager Jim Jefferies says “it’s a sweet, sweet feeling when you win these games.”
Also Saturday, Dundee United drew 1-1 at Aberdeen and Motherwell drew 0-0 at Hamilton.
Celtic, which leads Rangers by a point but has played two games more, meets its fierce Glasgow rival in one of Sunday’s two matches.
