Partick and Raith were forced to settle for a goalless draw in a disappointing First Division encounter.

John Baird had a chance to put Raith in front 14 minutes in but his right-foot volley from the edge of the penalty area flashed wide.

Partick were almost in front 11 minutes before half-time when Chris Erskine's left-foot drive was palmed away by Raith goalkeeper David McGurn.

The visitors started brightly after the break, with Iain Williamson forcing a save from Partick goalkeeper Scott Fox with a powerful shot.

Partick lost William Kinniburgh to injury 11 minutes into the second half and Raith could have been in front after 64 minutes when Scott McBride failed to hit the target from six yards out.

David Rowson and Hodge both had chances to win it for Patrick but failed to hit the target.
