Thistle frustrated in stalemate

Struggling Partick remain second from bottom in the table after being held to a goalless draw at home to Morton.
Martin Grehan went closest for Thistle in the first half when his early curling shot from the edge of the penalty area was tipped away at full stretch by Morton goalkeeper Colin Stewart.
The visitors threatened to break the deadlock just before the interval, but Michael Tidser's 25-yard free-kick was well saved by Partick goalkeeper Scott Fox.
Chances were at a premium in a dour second period. Substitute Chris Erskine's mis-hit shot for the home side flew wide, while Patrick Boyle's effort from similar distance was blocked.
Boyle also volleyed wide in the closing stages for the hosts, and Paul Paton headed Iain Flannigan's corner just over the crossbar in time added on.
