NICE, France (AFP) - Nice's veteran 37-year-old goalkeeper Lionel Letizi will retire at the end of the current season, the player confirmed on Thursday.
"I'll stop next June," said the former France international, who has won four caps during his career.
"It'll be high time by then as it's getting harder and harder to follow the routine. I feel a huge difference compared to last season. I struggle to recover after the big training sessions."
Currently the understudy to David Ospina, Letizi returned to his formative club Nice in January 2007 and has also played for Metz, Paris Saint-Germain and Scottish powerhouses Rangers.
He is believed to be considering a career coaching young children.
