Ayr got the better of Peterhead with a 4-2 win at Balmoor Park.
Peterhead took the lead when Stuart Smith rammed home a right-footed drive with 18 minutes on the clock.
The home side remained on top until keeper John Bateman brought down Daniel McKay in the area and was sent off, with Mark Roberts firing home from the spot.
With their numerical advantage, Ayr took control and Alan Trouten headed home with seven minutes of the first half remaining.
Ryan McCann added another for them with 23 minutes remaining with a cute finish from the edge of the area, and McKay made sure of the win when he found the bottom corner from close range.
Peterhead netted a consolation with three minutes left when Graeme Sharp's cross was turned into his own net by Ross Robertson.
