NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP)—Cyprus champion Omonia Nicosia has named Dusan Bajevic as its new coach.
Omonia made the announcement on its website on Wednesday.
The 62-year-old Bosnian Serb takes over from Takis Lemonis, who quit after the club lost consecutive matches in the championship, including a 3-0 loss to crosstown rival APOEL.
Omonia sits fourth in the standings, three points behind leader Anorthosis Famagusta.
Bajevic moves to the Cypriot club from AEK Athens. In a successful career spanning two decades in Greece, Bajevic coached four clubs and earned eight championships, evenly split between AEK and Olympiakos.
