Benayoun ruled out for six months

LONDON (AP)—Chelsea says Yossi Benayoun will undergo surgery on his torn Achilles’ tendon next week, ruling him out for six months.
The Israel midfielder was diagnosed with the injury while on international duty last week, and missed the games against Croatia and Greece to make an early return to the English Premier League club.
Benayoun, who joined Chelsea from Liverpool in the offseason, has not played for his club since sustaining a torn calf muscle in a League Cup match against Newcastle on Sept. 22.
