Alloa too strong for Forfar

Alloa survived a spirited Forfar comeback by winning 3-2 at Recreation Park.

They took the lead after minutes as Kevin McDonald drilled a right-footed shot into the top corner.

And they doubled the lead 11 minutes later as McDonald grabbed his second with a snapshot into the bottom corner from inside the area.

The home side went 3-0 up after 29 minutes when David Gormley's corner broke to William Gibson who fired home from 12 yards out.

However, Forfar pulled a goal back a minute before half-time as Andrew Todd headed home from 12 yards from Iain Campbell's corner.

They continued to pressure Alloa and were rewarded with a goal after 78 minutes through Bryan Deasley, who scored from 18 yards, but it was not enough as Alloa held on for the win.
