McLaren wonder strike sinks Pars

William McLaren scored a wonder-goal for Queen of the South to give his side a 2-0 win over league leaders Dunfermline.
The away side nearly broke the deadlock in the 19th minute but Patrick Clarke's brilliant curling effort from 25 yards came back off the post.
They had another chance on the half-hour mark but Andy Kirk's left-footed shot was tipped round the post by Dunfermline's David Hutton.
However, it was the home side that took the lead after 53 minutes as Andy Dowie was unfortunate enough to put the ball into his own net.
And McLaren wrapped up the win 10 minutes later with an extraordinary strike from his own half.
