Falkirk are five alive

Falkirk extended their winning streak to five games with an impressive 5-1 win over Cowdenbeath.

The home side were in front after just 11 minutes as youngster Jack Compton fired past David Hay from the edge of the box. The lead was doubled 10 minutes later as Mark Stewart headed in a Brian McLean cross.

For the most part, the game was one-way traffic, and Mark Millar added a third for Falkirk before half-time to put The Bairns in a position of strength going into the changing rooms.

Carl Finnigan scored the home side's fourth with a well-placed header on 70 minutes, and the rout was completed as Millar scored from the penalty spot after a Kenneth Adamson foul on Finnigan.

Mark Ramsey did manage to convert a spot-kick for the visitors, but it was no more than consolation as Falkirk continued their winning run.
