Raith miss a chance

Raith failed to move to the top of the table as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Stirling.

The away side took the lead in first-half injury time through a Christopher Aitken penalty, after he was brought down in the box by Stephen Simmons.

Rovers were unlucky not to be on level terms on 55 minutes when Willie Dyer's fantastic 35-yard drive came rattling back off the crossbar. The follow-up header from Allan Walker was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Stirling goalkeeper Callum Reidford.

But as the home side pushed forward looking for the equaliser, Aitken despatched a throughball which was slotted home by Gordon Smith on 90 minutes, giving Stirling a much-needed victory.
