Just after the half-hour mark, Chile's superior play and possession pays off when an excellent move culminates in the opening goal of the game. The ball went from the half-way line to the back of the net in four passes and approximately six seconds. Matias Fernandez started it with a zippy pass to Valdivia, who in turn threaded it behind the Honduras defence to Mauricio Isla. Isla then pulled it back for Beausjour, who bundled the ball home at the back post
