Andre Bikey says Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o will carry the hopes of the nation in the World Cup.
Paul Le Guen's side face Holland, Denmark and Japan in Group E when the tournament kicks off in South Africa next month.
Burnley's Bikey, who was omitted from the Cameroon squad after helping them qualify, said: "Samuel is not just important for the team, he is important for everyone. We know he is one of the top strikers in the world. If he is fit and confident he can help us again. We have to be sure he is okay."
