Johnny Russell`s hat-trick ensured Raith ended the season on a high with a 4-1 win over Ross County.

Despite having nothing to play for, Raith flew out of the blocks and took an early lead when David Armstrong headed Allan Walker`s past Joseph Malin with four minutes gone.

And Rovers doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark when Russell found space and fired home from 12 yards.

County desperately tried to get a foothold in the game but they were hit by the sucker punch when 20-year-old Russell, who is on loan from Dundee United, made it 3-0 with a smart finish nine minutes before the break.

The Staggies came out strongly after the break, though, equalising through Scott Morrison`s sensational 47th-minute free-kick, before Russell`s 71st-minute header wrapped things up.
