Doolan gives Partick win

Kris Doolan`s dramatic late winner ensured Partick ended the season on a high with a 1-0 win over Queen of the South.

After a cagey opening period, the game`s first opportunity fell to the hosts as Martin Grehan shot wide after finding space in the box.

However, the visitors responded well and could have taken the lead on the stroke of half-time but David Hutton produced a smart save to deny Steven McKenna.

The Doonhamers continued where they left off at the start of the second period but could not get an all-important breakthrough.

And they were punished for their lack of composure in front of goal when David Rowson picked out Doolan who fired a fizzing 18-yard shot past Hutton.
