Ayr relegated after loss

Morton struck late on to register a 2-1 win which secured their survival while condemning Ayr to relegation.
The home side started the day a point above the relegation play-off spot and gave nervous glances toward Airdrie's game with Dunfermline.
The Ton looked to be in trouble when Ayr took a shock lead through Daniel McKay's driven strike in the 20th minute.
But James Grady's side rallied and levelled with 13 minutes remaining when Stewart Greacen directed a volley home from 12 yards.
And as Ayr stared into the abyss, Morton made their status safe by snatching all three points in the 89th minute thanks to Carlo Monti's smart finish.
Victory at Cappielow Park - combined with Airdrie's defeat - ensured the hosts avoided the dreaded play-off by a four-point margin.
