Stirling and Arbroath prepare to do battle again

Posted Monday, April 12, 2010 by PA

Stirling defender Ross Forsyth sits out the second game of his two-match suspension when the Forthbank men meet Arbroath for the second time in three days.

Manager Allan Moore is determined to see his side turn one of their four games in hand into three points to further close the gap on leaders Alloa.

However, after coming from behind to win 4-2 at Gayfield on Saturday, Moore is in two minds about freshening up his side.

He said: "With seven league games still to play you would normally look to make a couple of changes after such a short period between games.

"The guys that have not played recently however have also not trained fully as we have been involved in midweek games."

Arbroath boss Jim Weir still has injury problems to contend with ahead of the clash.

Weir will again be without on-loan Queen of the South defender Gerry McLaughlin and striker Bryan Scott through injury, with Steven Rennie a doubt.

Paul Lunan is not included after leaving the club by mutual consent.

The Gayfield side can pull themselves to within a point of Stenhousemuir in the race to avoid the relegation play-off should they taste victory against Stirling this time around.

And Weir is out to make up for the disappointment of losing at the weekend.

He said: "We did well on Saturday and never got what we deserved. We will be out to get something from this one and a win pulls us onto Stenhousemuir's tail and two points off East Fife, so there is plenty to play for."
