Portsmouth relegated from top flight after West Ham beat Sunderland

Portsmouth's relegation from the Premier League has been confirmed after West Ham beat Sunderland 1-0 this afternoon.
Although Portsmouth do not have a league fixture this weekend due to their FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow, the club can no longer catch 17th-placed Wigan even if they win all of their remaining games.
Wigan, like West Ham, have 31 points, while Portsmouth have just 14 with five games left to play following their nine-point deduction for going into administration. Even without the deduction, Portsmouth would still be last in the table.
West Brom, meanwhile, have been promoted from the Championship after winning 3-2 away to Doncaster.
