Clyde vs Alloa -- Duo absent for Clyde

Posted Wednesday, April 07, 2010 by PA

Clyde will be without Willie Kinniburgh and Steven Howarth for the visit of leaders Alloa.

On-loan Patrick Thistle defender Kinniburgh and midfielder Howarth both remain sidelined with knocks.

But fit-again Kevin Higgins is in line for a recall to the Bully Wee midfield in this top-versus-bottom clash.

Director of football Neil Watt has stepped into the void caused by the removal of John McCormack from the manager`s job at Broadwood and he said: "This is the second time this season I have to do so, which was never my intention when I came here last summer.

"There are 38 points between the sides just now and if there are still 38 points between us or even less than that after this game I will consider that a success."

Leaders Alloa will welcome back John Grant, Mark Brown and Andy Scott.

The trio are all back in contention after missing last weekend`s victory over East Fife due to suspension.

But defender Scott Walker (ban) and winger Mark Gilhaney (hamstring) remain unavailable for selection.

Recreation Park boss Allan Maitland is wary of facing his former side so soon after their managerial change and he said: "It is difficult to anticipate what the Clyde players are going to do as they may well lift their game to impress Neil.

"This is a vital match for us and we had to hit back in injury time to get a draw the last time we faced Clyde."
