Cowdenbeath will be missing defender Dene Droudge through injury when Stenhousemuir visit Central Park.
Young midfielder Danny MacKay also sits out after suffering a setback in his recovery from a cruciate injury
Manager Danny Lennon said: "It has been an interesting week, with the talk of Spartans and an abandoned game with Stirling Albion after only 18 minutes, but all I am interested in is taking all three points against Stenhousemuir.
"We have always had interesting games against Stenhousemuir and I know they will be fighting for their lives after a poor run of results.
"We know each other well after being in Division Three last season and also meeting in the play-offs so I am expecting another close game."
Stenhousemuir are without Iain Thomson banned and Andy Brand.
Midfielder Thomson is suspended and striker Brand sits out with a knee injury.
Manager John Coughlin has told his players they face a must-win game.
Coughlin said: "We have suffered three defeats in a row after eight games undefeated and have went from the top half to the bottom three quickly as a result.
"We are looking over our shoulders now after looking to chase teams for a play-off spot a few weeks ago. We need to get a win and keep that gap on Arbroath and Clyde.
"We have not defeated Cowdenbeath so far this season and this would be the perfect time to break that duck."
