Sons look for revenge over Warriors

Dumbarton are likely to be without Martin McNiff and Ross Clark for the home clash against Stenhousemuir.

Youngster McNiff (ankle) and fellow midfielder Clark (calf) are both struggling for the encounter and look set to miss out.

Dumbarton will be looking to move above the visitors in the table and keep alive their hopes of sneaking into a play-off spot.

Jim Chapman's men went down 1-0 at Ochilview nine days ago and they will be out to make amends.

Chapman said: "We have the chance to get a win over Stenhousemuir very quickly after they defeated us and I welcome that.

"A win would move us above them in the table and one place behind the play-off pack."

Stenhousemuir lose Iain Thomson but welcome back Kevin Motion for the encounter.

Thomson saw red in the clash with Alloa at the weekend and is suspended but fellow midfielder Motion returns following a ban of his own.

Striker Andy Brand remains in the treatment room with a knee problem.

Manager John Coughlin is keen to see his side get back on track at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium after two last-gasp goals at leaders Alloa on Saturday turned what looked like victory into defeat.

Coughlin said: "We will concentrate on the positives from Saturday as we played really well against Alloa.

"We will put what happened behind us and start again against a good Dumbarton side that will be out for revenge and also looking to climb above us."
