Ayr duo sit out

Rocky Visconte and Willie Easton are out of Ayr's home game against Dundee.

The duo are missing through injury as Ayr look to extend their six-game unbeaten run, having won their last three games at Somerset Park without conceding a goal.

They could be boosted by the return of defender Kevin James, although he has not played for two months so it is unlikely he will be rushed back.

Manager Brian Reid said: "We are establishing a good record at Somerset Park again and came back from two down to draw with Dundee the last time they were here.

"That result along with playing well in two trips to Dens Park means that there is no reason why we should not feel confident about this game."

Dundee are out to re-establish a six-point lead at the top of the First Division and get over the disappointment of their Scottish Cup defeat against Raith Rovers at the weekend.

Defender Bob Malcolm could step off the bench to make his debut with only the long-term injured pair of David Cowan and Paul McHale unavailable to boss Jocky Scott.

Scott has asked his players to show character after their defeat, and said: "This is an occasion where players need to stand tall and get over a disappointment.

"There is no point in dwelling on the cup as that has gone now and we have to get back to leading the way in the First Division."
