Injury-ravaged Dunfermline finished the game with 10 men as they battled to a vital 2-1 victory over Raith at East End Park.

The hosts opened the scoring after 11 minutes when Steven McDougall produced a fine finish from inside the penalty area.

Dunfermline were reduced to 10 men just before the interval when Steven Bell saw red after clashing with Gregory Tade.

The home side doubled their lead on 55 minutes when Willie Gibson slotted home from 12 yards.

Raith pulled a goal back eight minutes later, Allan Walker stabbing in Grant Murray's pass inside the six yard box.

Laurie Ellis went close to an equaliser for the visitors late on but his header missed the target from six yards.
